WashLogik ("we", "our", or "us") is a car wash management platform operated by WashLogik, based at 17a Park Avenue, Allen's Nek, Roodepoort, South Africa. We collect the following types of information when you use our mobile application:
Account & Business Information:
- Business name, owner name, and contact details
- Email address and phone number
- Business address and operating location
Operational Data:
- Car wash transaction records (vehicle details, wash type, date, time, amount)
- Staff or operator names linked to transactions
- Revenue and wash volume statistics
- Product and equipment inventory records
Device & Technical Information:
- Device type and Android OS version
- App usage logs and crash reports (via Firebase)
- Firebase installation ID (anonymous device identifier)
The WashLogik app requests access to your device's camera. This permission is used exclusively for the following purposes:
- Capturing photos of vehicles being processed at your car wash
- Attaching vehicle images to wash transaction records
- Documenting the condition of vehicles before and after washing
We do not use your camera for any other purpose. Photos are only captured when you explicitly initiate the action within the app. We do not access your camera in the background.
Photos captured through the app are stored in your Firebase Realtime Database associated with your WashLogik account. You may delete transaction records and associated images at any time from within the app.
We use the information collected for the following purposes:
- To provide and operate the WashLogik car wash management platform
- To generate wash reports, analytics dashboards, and Excel exports for your business
- To maintain transaction history and operational records for your car wash
- To send important service updates, app version notifications, or account alerts
- To diagnose technical problems and improve app performance
- To respond to support requests submitted via our website or email
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sell it to any third party.
WashLogik uses Google Firebase to power the backend of the application. The following Firebase services are in use:
- Firebase Realtime Database — stores all wash transaction records, business data, and app content securely in the cloud
- Firebase Authentication — manages secure login and user account verification
- Firebase Analytics — collects anonymised app usage data to help us understand how the app is used and improve it
- Firebase Crashlytics — captures crash reports to help us identify and fix bugs quickly
Firebase is a service provided by Google LLC. Data processed through Firebase may be stored on Google's servers, including servers outside of South Africa. Google processes this data in accordance with their own Privacy Policy.
By using WashLogik, you acknowledge that your data is processed through Firebase services operated by Google LLC.
Your business and transaction data is stored securely in your Firebase Realtime Database project. We implement the following measures to protect your data:
- All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS/SSL connections
- Firebase Authentication ensures only authorised users can access your data
- Firebase security rules restrict database access to authenticated account holders only
- Passwords are never stored in plain text
While we take reasonable precautions to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or internet transmission is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong password and keep your login credentials confidential.
WashLogik does not sell, rent, or trade your personal or business data to third parties. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: Google Firebase (as described above) and other infrastructure providers required to operate the app
- Legal requirements: If required by South African law, court order, or lawful government request
- Business transfers: In the unlikely event of a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred to the new entity under equivalent privacy protections
- With your consent: Any other sharing will only occur with your explicit prior consent
As a South African business, WashLogik operates in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), Act 4 of 2013. Under POPIA, you have the following rights:
- Right of Access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Right to Correction: You may request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Right to Deletion: You may request that we delete your personal information, subject to legal retention obligations
- Right to Object: You may object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances
- Right to Complain: You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa at www.inforegulator.org.za
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 11.
We retain your data for as long as your WashLogik account remains active or as needed to provide you with our services. Specifically:
- Transaction and operational records are retained for as long as you use the app, and may be retained for up to 5 years after account closure for legal and tax compliance purposes
- Account information is deleted within 30 days of a confirmed account deletion request
- Firebase Analytics and crash data is retained according to Google's standard retention policies
You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at info@washlogik.com.
WashLogik is a business management application intended solely for use by adults operating car wash businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18.
If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at info@washlogik.com and we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our app, services, or legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we will:
- Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
- Notify you via an in-app notification or email if the changes are material
Your continued use of the WashLogik app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
